MouldWatch sensors ride the UK's public LoRaWAN network, the way a phone rides a mobile network. Where public coverage isn't there, a small 4G gateway ships with the kit and plugs into any indoor socket. No Wi-Fi, no home network setup, up to nine years of battery life.
The sensor.
A production-grade environmental sensor that measures temperature and humidity every 15 minutes. One in each bedroom and one in the main living area - three sensors in a typical two-bedroom home. Every room behind a closed door is its own microclimate, so each one is watched on its own.

Coverage check
We check each address against the UK's public LoRaWAN coverage. Most are already inside it - sensors just connect, like a phone finding signal.
4G backup if needed
If an address isn't covered by public LoRaWAN, a small 4G gateway ships with the kit. It plugs into any indoor socket and connects to the MouldWatch platform over 4G. No Wi-Fi, no home network setup.
Sensor deployment
Your own staff or contractors install the sensors during routine visits - one per bedroom, one in the main living area. About five minutes each: peel, stick, scan the QR code, done.
Live on the platform
Sensors pair automatically and start streaming. The moment a sensor is live, its readings appear in your dashboard and the property joins the risk model.

Sensors are remotely monitored 24/7 for connectivity, signal quality, and battery health. If a sensor stops transmitting for more than 48 hours, we diagnose remotely and coordinate physical replacement. A 2-year warranty covers manufacturing faults and sensors that fail early.
